Obama considers India as a defining and indispensable power of the 21st century. And we are happy about it! But we seriously lack in one aspect. Our grounds for development is IT. Tomorrow, if IT fails, or a competitor surpasses India in IT sector, our economy will crumble like a house of cards. Who can forget the 2G ripoff of Rs 170,000 crore by DMK’s A. Raja. Then there is the rice scam and the DD scam. So much has been written about Telecom scam, Sugar scam, Defense deals, illegal mining and what not! It made me really happy to know that Indian currency has found a symbol. It surely is an optimistic move by the government. Critics may claim that this move is of no use, but lets understand, that this move claims how confident India is, in the global market. It makes me feel proud that Indian rupee has joined the elite club of global currencies like the US Dollar, the British Pound, European Euro and Japanese Yen that have unique symbols.
