Presenting the president of Egypt, the dictator and the winner of Jawaharlal Nehru Award- Hosni Mubarak. Mubarak has ruled Egypt for 29 years now. He is the same guy who was paid $20 billion by the USA when he sent forces to Iraq in the 1991 war. Yes he is the same corrupt man. He is the same guy who supports Israel blindly. These days, he is in the front page of almost every newspaper due to the recent civil protests. My regular readers must be wondering if, for a change, I have started writing on World politics? Well, the answer is no. I was setting the stage for the Hosni Mubarak in India.

P J Thomas is India’s Hosni Mubarak. He is the dude, the man who just won’t go. After his close association with the 2G scam and after being accused with many other corruption charges, the Union government as well as the Supreme court has asked him to step down from his post of CVC (Chief Vigilance Commissioner). And guess what he did? He flatly refused.

By law, the CVC can be removed from office by either his resignation, or by order of the President on grounds of proved misbehaviour or incapacity. The President’s order can be issued only after the Supreme Court, on a reference made to it by the President, holds an inquiry into the grounds for his removal from office. Enquiry in India takes time, and the shameless CVC Thomas is willing to stay, just like the Egyptian. The dude wont quit, not for another 29 years.
