About Me

This is the toughest part, since college days! Introducing myself….

Well, I am a poet and a dreamer, but also a realist and an optimist. I value simple living and high thinking. I try to give my best I can, in everything I do. I am an idealist but circumstances have always tried to convince that life doesn’t work out the way I wish for or predict. But for me it’s too early to give up. And its’ never too late!

I tend to form few friendships and the friendships I form are lasting. I get emotional about people and believe in being good, sympathetic and forgiving. I am not religious though I am spiritual and believe in a higher power. I meditate everyday. I am reasonably intelligent and well-read, yet forgetful and prone to mistakes. I am a student, and will always remain one.

I am also an engineer by profession. I strongly believe and practice the Free and Open Source ideology of software development. I work as a programmer analyst in Brocade Communications. Apart from poetry, reading and technology, I interests include sketching and photography. Once the sub editor of Khabar India, I am now a collective publisher, a budding playright, a freelance English columnist, and have written many articles for several newspapers, magazines and websites.

My ultimate passion lies in writing poems in Hindi, and I have authored three books  - ’अनभ्र रात्रि की अनुपमा‘, ‘उत्थिष्ठ भारत‘ and यायावर‘.

I am also a passionate lover of old, classical & neo-realist cinema- irrespective of their language. Kurosawa, Ray, Godard, Bergman, Hitchcock, Welles, Kubrick & Fellini are my favorite directors. I like psychedelic, progressive & classical rock music. I also love Ravindrasangeet and old Hindi songs. I am not a great conversationalist though I can be articulate when the occasion demands. My experiences in life have made me liberal, broad-minded and more tolerant of other people and their views. Yet, I am conservative about ideas I believe are worthwhile.

I’d rather be disliked for what I am than loved for what I’m not.
