Recently, a brahmin mother of an educated family killed her employed daughter as she was into a relation with a young kayastha boy. If the educated parents can’t stand to the wishes of their children, why don’t they stop educating their children? I know there must be hundreds of such stories of broken hearts of the young men and women that go unreported, who still lead a miserable life. To these pathetic parents, their caste and vanity is superior to their kids life!
And guess what? The same is going in politics as well! Why are we even discussing the idea of having a caste based census- that too after 80 years? The idea behind the last caste based census was deployment of the British divide and rule policy! Have they forgotten that the first Cabinet after Independence which was led by Jawaharlal Nehru, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, B R Ambedkar and Maulana Azad had decided not to conduct a caste-based census which was seen as a blot on a nation that strives for unity?
Can the youth of the nation protest? Against their families? Against the system? Are we being divided to be ruled?
